Week 17 *

Baby's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. Th umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes are now topped by one-of-a-kind prints!!
My girlfriend Natalie sent me the book Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy. Its the naked truth about pregnany and chilbirth...and she is blunt all right!
Its definitly a funny read! I reccomended it to all pregnant ladies~

Growing Family

Spring starts tomorrow! A time for fresh, new beginnings in both nature and in our family.

On the first weekend of April we head out to Vegas for Chris & AnneMaries wedding. We can't wait for their big day.

In May we will have Mikes cousin Sam& Kristy giving birth to their second child. And 2-3 weeks before we have ours...Mikes other cousin Tim & wife Kelly will be having their baby! Our family sure is growing. :-)

My friends Nick & Sarah from St.Cloud just had their baby boy William on Saturday.
I just had to add a picture of him cause he is so dang cute!

Makes me want one NOW!!! :-)

Week 14

Baby Foy is now 14 weeks along
..growth this month is remarkable.
Baby is now 3 and a half inches long and weighs one and a half ounces . The size of a fist.
About now, the fetus can grasp, squint, frown, and grimace. It may even be able to suck its thumb.

One thing that I have noticed is quite the increase in indigestion and heartburn. Tums are with me where ever I go these days. My baby bump is starting to show but i can still fit into all my regular clothes..with a little give. I'm still at my pre-pregnancy weight but it seems like the weight has just shifted around a bit. :-)

Next check up will be in 3 weeks~

Mike turns white

On Tuesday morning I was able to get an early appointment with my doctor to hear the fetal heart tones. Mike was also able to come with me since it was before he left for work.
Little did we know that the appointment would make Mike turn WHITE!

It happened when the Dr was listening to baby's heart.. All sounded good . Heart Rate was 160s. Perfect!! Then the Dr noticed that my belly was slightly larger by the bellybutton then it usually is at this stage of pregnancy. He felt around and said.. either you are carrying the baby really high or you may have Twins in there!
Twins
gulp!

Mike turned the oddest color i have ever seen!
Faint
It was priceless. Since his mother has twins in her family mike couldn't help but think of what we had missed on the first ultrasound.
Two hours later i was at the Ultrasound and saw that there FOR SURE was just ONE beautiful baby in my belly. I called Mike right away to give him the relieving news. It was kinda fun to think about maybe having twins.. but I'm just glad to have one healthy one!

During the ultrasound they took a few more measurements and told me that baby is right on schedule and the correct weight! I'm just carrying it really high...which hopefully means my shape will stay pretty much the same and I'll just have a basketball for a tummy.
Pregnant Smiley
Now that I'm almost 14 weeks the dreaded nausea has really subsided. I did almost loose it in a patients room yesterday when they were throwing up what looked more like should be coming from the other end.

No odd cravings yet. I usually have to eat every 2 hours to keep baby happy. I can eat ice cream now....ever since my trial run at cold stone with my sister Natalie! :-) mmmmm I also am always thirsty!

Wow! I'm already 12 weeks along. Hopefully that stork above keeps moving quickly down his timeline. :-)
One more week...and then I will be onto the 2nd trimester!
This week I got some info on Pregnancy/Birthing classes that are avaliable at my hospital. The ones I really want to sign up for are:
-Birth and Parenting Prep
-Breastfeeding Prep
-Infant Massage
-and Small Talk -which is a baby sign language class.

I read in one of my baby books today that baby Foy can hear the sound of my voice and sounds in the environment. Loud noises may even startle baby. They suggest to play music and talk to baby. In the next few weeks it may even respond to familar voices and sounds. CRAZY!!! I think i need to get some Mozart to play for baby foy.

My morning sickness is slowly fading. I occasionally gets waves of nausea when i smell some things still. I've figured out if i eat a little snack every 2 hours I do better then just 3 bigger meals. At my next OB check up I get to go in to hear fetal heart tones, that will be in about a week.

First picture of baby foy!

We had our first ultrasound last night.
What a fun experience that was! We got to see our little one moving all around. Arms wiggling and bouncing like it was on a trampoline!!
I was surprised at how clear of a picture they could take at this early in the game. At the firstsight Mike almost fainted!!

We found out the due date to be Aug 29th. yippie! Another Virgo in the house.
Since I'm only at 10 weeks we were unable to see the sex of the baby.. that will be at
20 weeks.
At 20 weeks they also will look at all the body parts and do measuring and a whole bunch of other stuff so we will know alot more then. Right now just having the ultrasound pictures is enuogh reward for me. It kinda made everything "real".

This picture is somewhat hard to see if you dont know what you are looking for.
On the Left side is the head and ifyou look closely you can see babys feet and toes!
Words can't describe how it feels to see a picture of that baby that is growing inside you.
I think im still awestruck.

When do you think we will have our baby?
